I recently had the privilege of visiting Mr. Susanto Panda’s farm. I feel deeply inspired to share the extraordinary experience and the unwavering dedication behind establishing this coffee paradise. Mr. Panda’s passion for his work is truly heartwarming, and his photography skills add a unique charm to his farm. It is not just a haven for coffee enthusiasts but also a sanctuary for birds. Mr. Susanto Panda, founder of Dream-Hill Coffee, is a commerce graduate with a law degree from Jeypore town in the Koraput district of Odisha. Despite having many career opportunities, Mr. Panda chose to leave his comfort zone and pursue farming to stay connected with nature.
Early Beginnings:
Mr. Panda began his journey by helping his father with paddy farming and other crops like corn and sugarcane on their land near Jeypore. After gaining experience, he and his siblings acquired more land in Podagada, Rajuguda, and Chakraliput around Koraput. They worked hard to turn barren land into a thriving coffee estate and later added black pepper to their crops.
Learning the Craft:
Without prior experience in coffee farming, Mr. Panda educated himself by reading extensively about soil quality, climate conditions, and farming practices from around the world. He attended numerous agricultural workshops, training sessions, and seminars to learn more about coffee plantation.
Establishing Saptagiri Plantation:
Since 1996, Mr. Panda has been managing the coffee estates under the name Saptagiri Plantation. He creates regular income for hundreds of tribal families by preferring hand-picked coffee fruits processed by tribals over machines. He provides training and support in various farming processes such as manuring, harvesting, drying, de-pulping, packaging, and storing.
A Passion for Photography:
In addition to farming, Mr. Panda pursues his passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the mountains, greenery, rare birds, and the tribal community. He shares these moments on social media, showcasing the natural beauty of his surroundings.

His goal is to create more employment opportunities for the tribal area and serve pure coffee, handpicked and curated by the tribals, from farm to cup around the world.
